. . . The Magic Key
Stress
The stress snowball
Today we know all too well the negative effects of stress on our health and in our lives. It is well documented that too much stress harms our decision making ability and makes people irritable and less enjoyable to be around. The effects of unresolved stress can lead to to a snowballing of escalating failure and unhappiness for the stressed person. That unhappiness rarely stops at the stressed individual and usually affects others too.
The book Strategies uncovers the real hidden cause of the most destructive forms of stress in people’s lives and shows us how we can neutralize it in ourselves and others. I’m not saying that reading this book will eliminate the inevitable occurrences of stressful situations in someone’s life. I am saying that we can understand and eliminate these underlying stressful patterns where they occur as emotions. After all, stress is an emotion not a circumstance.
Consider this, usually when someone is really stressed out, it is not because only one thing is not working in their life. Usually they are experiencing challenges in several areas of their life. They’re having trouble in their family or intimate relationship and also trouble in areas like their career or with their finances. On top of that, they may also be experiencing stresses relating to bigger questions in life, like, what is my purpose? Am I on the right path? Am I around the right people?
Of course when things in general are not going well and we are already stressed out, we become hypersensitive to any additional situations that might add to the stress. Because of this, we become less resourceful and any little thing we can normally handle may become “the straw that breaks the camels back,” causing us to make even more bad choices or treat others unfairly harsh.
Have you ever been yelled at even though you were only trying to help someone, or have you ever caught yourself (as you were yelling at someone) noticing that they were really just trying to help?
I would have to admit that I have.
At times like this we recognize and accept that there are underlying issues that must be resolved in order to relieve the stress.
Strategies reveals the universal underlying reasons we all have that determine whether we will feel stressed out or confident in the way we approach life. Once our underlying issues and internal conflicts are resolved, the giant snowball melts and we are free to experience life without the destructive distraction of stress.
